I have, two times - first in a movie house, then within HBO. Both times, I felt like a group of hungry dogs was tearing my emotions apart. Human being struggle and drama always affect me in ways hard to understand. But aren't all of us?

The movie is a biographical episode of the life of Chris Gardner, a guy who had been down and out of luck; who, regarding his son, wrangled for accommodations in the streets of New York while this individual tried to put back his life.

Film production company, released in 2006, was hugely popular bringing on Will Smith's (who played Chris Gardner), nomination to have an Oscar Award and a Golden Globe award for Greatest Actor, with good reason. It showed 2 things which never fail to touch the human emotional blend.

First: Our love for the under dog;

Second: Our urge to cheer all of them on to success.

Which Chris Gardner do, after working hard and fighting off difficulties which could have made weaker men give up and give within.

Towards the end, Chris became effective as a stock broker, allowing him to establish their own multi-million dollar brokerage firm.

Is where people stand up to give the film (and Chris Gardner) a standing ovation? For many of us, it is.

The majority of us take happiness as a by-product of success as well as success is spelled $UCCE$$. Contrary to public opinion, studies, upon studies show this is never the case. True, money can get you a lot of things that will make you happy, but happiness has no price tag.

Based on Dr . Arthur C. Brooks, a teacher of Business and Government Policy at the Syracuse University as well as author of Gross National Happiness: Why Happiness Matters with regard to Americans and How we Can Get more of This, " happiness is not about generating a lot of income, having a perfect entire body, of making good grades at school.

After assessing plenty of data from the best researchers about them, Dr . Brooks observed that true joy lies in traditional values like faith, effort, marriage, charity and independence.

Faith, is the substance of points hoped for, the evidence of things not observed. (Hebrews 11. 1)

It does not take acceptance of a being, the deity, or a God higher than us, that is the source of love and wish.

Without faith, there can be absolutely no hope. And love cannot dwell in the hearts of folks that see nothing but gloom and lose hope.

Unbelievers may scoff at this idea however a General Social Survey done in 2004 showed which 43% of people who have faith said that these were very happy with their lives compared to just 23% of those with no faith. And this number is irrespective of religious denomination.

Effort is something alien to young people nowadays. Thanks to commercialism, they think the current acceptance is served in a silver platter without their needing to work for it. Well, something that

Comes easy can easily be dispensed along with as well, leaving behind a gaping vacuum that should be filled over and over again until these people realize that real happiness has to be created with the appreciation of one's hard and honest work.

Studies show that people who are much more physically active are happier than those who are not as well as, most Americans, even those who have become individually wealthy, would like to keep on working so long as they practically can.

As a result, of the people surveyed who said they are happy with their lives, 95% also said that these were satisfied with their jobs.

Marriage may be the union of two people who love each other and wish to make that relationship public, official and long term.

What was once strictly a union among man and woman, is now simply a union associated with two people due to increasing clamor for same sex relationships. And its permanence is strongly challenged by the growing number of marriages ending in a separation and divorce.

Regardless of form or relevance or resolution, it still brings a lot of happiness to the people. A study done in 2003 that followed twenty-four, 000 people for more than a decade showed a substantial increase in happiness after they tied the knots.

Researchers also believe that happy individuals are more inclined to marry than those who are disappointed and happy marriages have better chances in staying the training course, "... For better, for even worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or even in healthy and to cherish till death do us component. "

A 2007 poll showed the very best five factors essential to give happiness to a relationship. These are: sharing household chores, good real estate, adequate income, a happy sexual relationship as well as faithfulness.

Charity is the act of non-reflex giving of help, typically money, to those within need. It can be to a person, a spiritual organization, an institution such as an orphanage or perhaps a social club raising funds for a trigger.

Numerous studies show that acts of charitable organization and other worthy causes bring substantial happiness to the tilbyder. According to Dr . Brooks, "People who sum to charity are 43% happier than those who avoid. "

If you want to be pleased, give.

Freedom is the power or even right to act speak, or think what one desires without hindrance or restraint. It can be politics, financial or religious freedom. And people enjoying these types of freedoms, research shows, are a lot happier than patients without.

Freedom, however , must not be construed as a blanket right to believe, say or do something outside of the acceptable best practice rules of society upon which it exists. People who exceed these norms will ultimately run afoul with the legislation, hurt themselves and their love ones, and business lead very lonely and unhappy lives.

All of us have the right and obligation to pursue happiness specially in a society where bad news sells, crime is actually lurking in every street corner, drug addiction is widespread and teenage pregnancies are becoming too common, mention just a few. Because to abandon this pursuit simply leaves future generations with nothing much to hope and live with regard to.
